Cookie Exchange

This year was our "2nd Annual Cookie Exchange". My mom, sisters and I get together and bring a dozen cookies for each guest to take home. The cookies should be homeade but don't have to be a new recipe. We exchange recipes and serve brunch while chatting and tasting any extra cookies. If everyone could make it I would be making 9 dozen cookies - Yikes! This year we missed a few and so I made 6 dozen cookies and came home with 6 dozen different cookies. Among the cookies were Peanut Butter Hershey Kiss Cookies, Peppermint Melt-Aways, Coconut Peanut Butter Bars, Press Cookies, Mint Chocolate Wafer Cookies, and Cranberry Orange Pinwheels. Mr Wright and I divided them up and delivered them to our neighbors. It was nice to have a variety.

Scabs

Why do we pick our scabs? Our bodies are amazing. When we fall and scrap ourselves up our body knows to start healing itself. If we clean the wound and protect it, it will form a scab and start the healing process. But many of us pick at our scabs and prolong the healing time as well as many times create scars.

Why do we pick at ourselves? The atonement is amazing. When we fall and sin it is there for us to heal. If we repent and change our behavior we form a type of scab and start the healing process. But may of us pick at our scabs and prolong the healing time. Others pick at faint scars that are left from years earlier. Scars that the Lord can't see anymore but we let ourselves see them still. The hardest part of repentance is the picking of scars and scabs...forgiving ourselves.
As explained to Simba in The Lion King, the past can hurt - but you either learn from it or let to control you. uh or something like that
