Here are a few pictures of the cat box Mr. Wright made for his sister.
It was my idea to add the accent wall.
Mr. Wright is the best!

A proud moment.
I finished "Pride and Predjudice". Hooray for me! It truly is a miracle, seriously. For those who don't know me. I am not a reader. In the last 5 years I have made more of an effort than I ever did in school and I have actually enjoyed it. Scary right. Well, it's the truth. But when I started Pride and Predjudice, man, it was so hard for me. I was glad I had seen the movie - or should I say movies because I needed that to get me threw. But here lies the problem with seeing movies before reading the novels. When I was reading I would imagine Keira Knightly as Elizabeth Bennet because she played her in the 2005 movie
but I imagined Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy and he played him in the 1995 TV mini series.
I guess that is the beauty of reading - you can create your own perfect version.

A different kind of house work!
Over the past year we have done a bunch of projects to start making our new house "our home". Here are some pictures to help brag about my very talented Mr. Wright. I love that he is such a handy man.
We put up new black outdoor lights and a homemade address sign.
We painted the light post black and added flower box.
Mr. Wright suprised me one day and painted our shutters black.
Our new mailbox stands up staight and has no rust.
With our new spot lights we can see to take out the garbage at night.
The big summer project - stripped, sanded, secured and painted.
We (Mr Wright) moved pipes, repaired sprinklers and prepared our garden area.
Our crawl space has been cleaned, carpeted, repaired and we even put in additional lights. Talk about recycle, we used the old outside lights.

The grass WON!
When we fixed the deck in the backyard and prepared the garden area we were left with a few areas that needed a lot of TLC.
We (Mr. Wright) tilled the ground and we planned seed for grass. We watched as grass and lots of weeds grew. But after watering and watering and watering we let the grass do its thing and the weeds disappeared.
I doubted many but now believe when they all told me "when nourished the good prevails".

Keeping the bad stuff out.
Less sprinkler repairs this year and less weeds!!!
Last fall we (in this case "we" means Mr. Wright) installed a filter for the secondary water. WOW!!!! I didn't realize how much time & money went into repair and weed control last year until comparing it to this year.
This was one of the best things we did for our house.

no pictures needed...
Early this summer I killed a snake with the lawn mower and I will never be the same. I didn't see it alive but I will always remember where I was, what it felt like and what I saw.
Thank you Mr. Wright for taking care of it.

Oohs & Ahhs
Dear blog...it's been 4 months since my last entry.
I have attempted, edited, deleted and rewritten many entries. But with each entry I wondered, "who would want to read this?" The "oohs & ahhs" in my life never seem to reflect in my writing the justice they deserve.
While secrectly wanting to be a better writer I scan other's blogs. They often make me laugh and cry. I am not only impressed with the content but the frequency. There are many dedicated bloggers. And not the kind that would resemble my teenage journal (you know what I mean - only talking about the day and the most recent boy crisis), but great writing and pictures.
I love the dedication of many of my fellow bloggers and yet I know I am not alone, for there are plenty sites I frequently check and like mine show nothing new.
So, the next few entries are me playing catch up on 2009.

Fall back plans are more creative.
Instead of our new bigger deck...our ever changing budget took us to plan B - "just paint it". But before we could even start to paint we needed to repair, support, secure and sand. Okay to be fair - Mr. Wright needed to repair, support and secure & "we" needed to sand. I don't even know how to tell you how bad it was - but it was bad...no...really bad. But I am so proud of our fall back plan & I am so impressed with Mr. Wright and his creativity. He was able to repair, strengthen and secure that darn rickety deck with very little money and lots of sweat. Thank you babe!
I LOVE IT!

Here today - Gone tomorrow!
"There's a party going on right here - a celebration to last through out the year."
Yesterday we had reason to celebrate. Mr Wright has been out of work for 6 months and I was laid off in March...so when I got a job offer yesterday we jumped up and down and all around. I was expecting the written offer the next day but instead I got the news that the president and owner ordered a hiring freeze after reviewing April financials and May forecast. It was sad for a few hours around the house today.
But honestly, we are so blessed. And although the stress of unemployment is so real, we have felt such love and support from people around us.
So the job search continues!

Paper vs Clock
Today is our 1st year anniversary.
This morning as I left for work, I had a little suprise in my car. A really sweet card from Mr. Wright. The card says, "I love you - You were so worth waiting for." It's funny (but nice) to get a sentimental card from him - because I just expect the day to day goofiness instead. I love him!

Snack Pack
I am finally over my sinus infection and cold. But while I wasn't feeling great Mr Wright was doing all he could to help me feel better. What a great guy! He even went to the store and brought home one of my favorite snacks - Jello Pudding Snacks - I love them.
Everyday for a week I had a "snack pack" for breakfast on my way to work. (disclaimer: I know there is a brand called "Snack Pack" but Jello Brand is better but it is a lot more fun to say Snack Pack rather than Jello Pudding Snacks)
When the weekend came he went to take my car to fill it up with gas and discovered my 5 empty containers with spoons. I was mortified - I am not a slob! (disclaimer: Remember I hadn't been feeling well - yes that's my excuse)
We (or should I say he) laughed about it all day and now he calls me "Snack Pack".
Mr Wright has a million pet names for me and I call him "honey" or "babes". That's it - the other day I called him by his name. He thought he was in trouble for something. I am lame.
